About the role
Moorside Precision Ltd is looking for a practical and reliable Janitor / Workshop and Facilities Assistant to help maintain our CNC workshop and other company properties.
The role is initially part-time, with flexible hours that can be agreed with the successful applicant. There may also be an opportunity to work full-time for someone who is willing to travel to our other sites, including residential properties.
This is a varied, hands-on position involving cleaning, basic property maintenance, workshop support, materials handling and occasional customer deliveries.
Key responsibilities
- Clean and maintain internal areas of the factory and other designated properties.
- Clean external areas, including removing leaves and litter and clearing drains and gullies.
- Clean toilets and replenish toilet and cleaning supplies.
- Clean CNC machines and safely remove swarf and workshop debris.
- Inspect buildings and grounds and report any repairs that are required.
- Complete minor repairs where appropriate and safe to do so.
- Assist with basic maintenance of heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, alarm and electrical systems.
- Obtain quotations for major repairs or refurbishment work.
- Organise cleaning supplies, materials and workshop stock.
- Cut metals and other materials as required.
- Receive and check materials and goods delivered by suppliers.
- Package goods and prepare them for dispatch.
- Deliver goods to customers when required.
- Complete and handle delivery paperwork.
About you
The successful applicant will be:
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently.
- Practical and comfortable carrying out a variety of hands-on tasks.
- Able to maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Willing to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends.
- Comfortable working within an active CNC manufacturing environment.
- Safety-conscious when using tools, equipment and cleaning machinery.
- Willing to travel to other company sites if taking on additional hours.
Previous experience in industrial cleaning, facilities maintenance, workshop support or a similar practical role would be beneficial, although relevant training can be provided.
