We’re looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the team at Lola Jeans Tynemouth.
Lola Jeans is all about great food, great drinks and genuine hospitality – delivered in a relaxed environment with plenty of personality. For our next General Manager, we're looking for someone who can take that experience to another level.
This role would particularly suit someone with a strong food-led background who has worked in high-quality restaurants, premium hospitality or a fine-dining environment and now wants to bring those standards into a busy, more relaxed operation.
What we're looking for;
You'll understand what genuinely great service looks like – the small details, anticipating what a guest needs, knowing the menu inside out and creating a team that takes pride in doing things properly.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has strong experience managing a quality, food-led restaurant
- Comes from a background where service standards and attention to detail really matter
- Has an excellent understanding of food and is passionate about delivering it consistently
- Can train a team to provide knowledgeable, confident and personable service
- Has incredibly high standards when it comes to cleanliness, presentation and the overall guest experience
- Is comfortable running a busy restaurant and leading from the floor
- Understands the commercial side of hospitality – sales, labour, GP, stock and profitability
- Can recruit, develop and retain a brilliant team
- Is organised, accountable and comfortable taking full ownership of the venue
- Has personality – we want high standards, but we definitely don't want robotic hospitality

We want the standards you'd associate with excellent restaurants: a beautifully presented venue, knowledgeable staff, considered service, attention to detail and a team that notices the things other people miss.
You should be equally comfortable discussing food quality with the kitchen, coaching a member of the floor team on service, speaking to guests, analysing the week's numbers and making sure the smallest details around the restaurant are right.
The role;
As General Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the day-to-day performance of Lola Jeans Tynemouth, including:
- Guest experience and service standards
- Food and drink quality
- Team recruitment, training and development
- Restaurant presentation and cleanliness
- Sales and profitability
- Labour and rota management
- Stock control and GP
- Health & safety and compliance
- Building a positive, professional and high-performing culture
Most importantly, you'll set the standard.
We're looking for someone who is present, hands-on and passionate about hospitality – someone who gets a genuine buzz from a busy service, takes pride in the details and wants to build one of the best hospitality teams in the area.
