About the Role
We are currently recruiting experienced Emergency Care Practitioners (ECPs) and Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENPs) to join Crawley Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) under Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust for ongoing ad hoc and short-term agency bookings.
The successful candidates will be expected to work autonomously within an urgent care environment, assessing, diagnosing, treating, and safely discharging or referring patients presenting with minor illness and minor injuries.
Requirements
- Current NMC or HCPC registration
- Significant experience working autonomously within UTC, MIU, A&E, Primary Care, or Urgent Care settings
- Minor Illness qualification
- Minor Injuries qualification
- Non-Medical Prescribing qualification (preferred)
- IR(ME)R / X-Ray requesting experience
- Red Dot training
- Experience assessing and managing both minor illness and injury presentations
- Strong clinical decision-making and referral skills
- Knowledge of safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- SystmOne experience (desirable)
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)
Clinical Skills Required
- Autonomous assessment and management of minor illness and injuries
- Patient triage and clinical assessment
- Requesting and interpreting X-rays
- Suturing and tissue adhesive application
- Plastering and management of minor fractures
- Medication administration and Non-Medical Prescribing (where qualified)
- Health promotion and patient education
- Appropriate referral and signposting to onward services
- Safeguarding assessment and escalation
- Working within urgent care pathways and multidisciplinary teams
