Join Our Team
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Manual Quality Inspector to join our growing Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in manual inspection who is looking to develop their career within a precision engineering environment.
As a Manual Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring components meet the highest quality standards using a range of manual inspection equipment. We are committed to investing in the right candidate, offering training on Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), FAIR documentation, and other advanced inspection equipment, with a clear pathway towards a future Quality Engineer role.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect manufactured components using manual measuring equipment.
- Use inspection equipment including verniers, micrometres, bore micrometres, plug gauges and ring gauges.
- Interpret engineering drawings and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Raise and manage non-conformance reports.
- Carry out calibration of inspection equipment in line with company procedures.
- Support the creation of First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) (training provided where required).
- Work collaboratively with production and other departments to resolve quality issues.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
- Support compliance with AS9100 and ISO9001 quality standards.
About You - We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience in a quality inspection role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong knowledge of manual inspection equipment, including verniers, micrometres, bore micrometres, plug gauges and ring gauges.
- A good understanding of GD&T.
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Experience working within an AS9100 and/or ISO9001 environment (preferred).
- Knowledge or awareness of CNC machining processes.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
