Company Overview: CHS is an award-winning commercial vehicle repair body shop. We work with all the major UK insurers and numerous blue-chip businesses to keep their cars, vans and trucks on the road. Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced HGV / Coach Builder to join our skilled workshop team at our Head Office in Hoddesdon.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual with a strong background in commercial vehicle body repairs. You will play a key role in restoring damaged HGVs, coaches, buses and commercial vehicles to manufacturer and industry standards, ensuring the highest levels of quality, safety and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for repairing and restoring damaged vehicle panels to their original condition.
- Carry out structural and cosmetic repairs to HGVs, coaches, buses and commercial vehicles
- Remove and replace damaged body panels and components
- Repair and replace aluminium, steel and composite panels
- Carry out panel repairs, fabrication and body alignment
- Undertake chassis and framework repairs where required
- Use welding equipment and body repair tools safely and effectively
- Work from job cards, repair methods and manufacturer specifications
- Liaise with workshop controllers, estimators and parts departments to ensure repairs progress efficiently
- Ensure all repairs are completed to the highest quality standards
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
Candidate Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an HGV Coach Builder, Commercial Vehicle Body Repair Technician or similar role is essential
- Experience repairing HGVs, coaches, buses or other commercial vehicles
- Excellent knowledge of commercial vehicle body construction and repair techniques
- Experience working with steel, aluminium and composite materials
- Welding and fabrication experience would be advantageous
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High attention to detail with pride in producing quality workmanship
- Reliable, conscientious and professional
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment
- Full UK driving licence preferred
