Shift: 6 on 3 off, working days/nights/weekends and bank holidays
Bidvest Noonan is seeking a professional SOC Operative to join the team at 15 Bishopsgate, EC2N 3AR
This role is a dynamic, multi-faceted operational position that combines control room monitoring, on-site patrols, and front-of-house security responsibilities. You will provide 24/7 monitoring and incident management, respond promptly to alarms or operational issues, and actively support the safety and security of tenants, visitors, and staff throughout the building. Working closely with on-site Security Officers, Supervisors, and other stakeholders, you will ensure seamless communication, rapid incident response, and a high standard of service across all aspects of the site’s security operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor CCTV, access control, alarms, and life-safety systems to maintain the safety and security of the site.
- Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies in accordance with site procedures and Assignment Instructions.
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly and annual audits of operational systems escalating and acting on any issues.
- Log all incidents, alerts, and actions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Responsible for joiners, movers and leavers process.
- Coordinate with on-site Security Officers and Supervisors to support operational responses when required.
- Provide clear and concise communications to staff, management, clients, and external agencies as necessary.
- Support emergency response and escalation procedures, including notifying relevant stakeholders.
- Maintain situational awareness and ensure continuity of service during shift handovers.
- Contribute to operational efficiency by identifying issues or areas for improvement within the SOC.
- Ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and company security obligations.
- Participate in training and continuous professional development as required.
- Supervise and manage building security out of hours.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Experience in a security control room or operations centre environment
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple stakeholders
- Clear and professional communication skills
- Customer service focus and ability to liaise with stakeholders
- Ability to remain calm and make decisions under pressure
- IT and security systems proficiency (CCTV, access control, reporting platforms)
- Teamwork and collaboration skills
- Professionalism and integrity
- Working knowledge of CCTV, alarm monitoring, access control, and incident reporting systems.
- Ability to understand, process and disseminate intelligence across stakeholders.
- Understanding of emergency response and escalation protocols.
- Ability and experience in analysing systems data, drawing correct conclusions and being able to communicate this to stakeholders.
- Experience of managing an incident until incident commander takeover.
- Valid Door Supervisor licence.
- Valid SIA CCTV licence.
- Ability to perform duties that may require standing or remaining alert for extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- First Aid qualification.
- Experience in corporate or high-profile commercial buildings.
- Familiarity with workforce scheduling or reporting systems.
- Recognised security qualification minimum level 3 or higher or working towards
- Recognised control room qualification.
