We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Cloud Architect to join our growing technology team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for a cloud expert who thrives on designing scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud solutions that support business transformation and digital innovation.
As a Cloud Architect, you will play a key role in defining cloud strategy, designing enterprise-grade architectures, and guiding technical teams through cloud adoption and modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient cloud architectures.
- Lead cloud migration, modernization, and transformation projects.
- Develop cloud governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Provide architectural guidance across infrastructure, applications, networking, and security.
- Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend best practices.
- Create architecture documentation, standards, and technical roadmaps.
- Support DevOps, automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives.
- Ensure cloud environments meet performance, availability, and cost optimization objectives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Cloud Architect, Solutions Architect, or similar senior cloud-focused role.
- Strong expertise in at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Deep understanding of cloud-native architecture, microservices, containers, and serverless technologies.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar automation tools.
- Knowledge of networking, security architecture, identity management, and cloud governance.
- Familiarity with DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Relevant cloud certifications are highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or equivalent certifications.
- Experience designing enterprise-scale cloud environments.
