Job Title: Joiner
Main Purpose of job:
To carry out a wide range of joinery and carpentry tasks in the construction, installation, repair and maintenance of buildings, structures and facilities. Use your skills and knowledge to complete assigned tasks efficiently and to a high standard of quality.
Key Tasks / Main Duties:
- Perform a variety of skilled joinery tasks in the construction and maintenance of buildings, structures and facilities.
- Install, repair and maintain wooden structures including doors, windows, staircases, kitchens, flooring, partitions, roofing and frameworks.
- Measure, cut and assemble materials in accordance with project specifications.
- Install fixtures and fittings such as skirting boards, architraves, cabinets and shelving units.
- Carry out first and second fix joinery work.
- Repair and maintain existing wooden structures, fixtures and fittings.
- Read and interpret construction drawings.
- Work independently or as part of a team depending on project requirements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and site procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve joinery-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with other trades and professionals to achieve project goals.
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Joiner within the construction industry.
- Ability to carry out first and second fix joinery work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations within construction.
- Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks including lifting, bending and prolonged standing.
- Relevant trade qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent).
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Salary: £15 - £18 an hour.
