Job Summary
Futureents is seeking a motivated and passionate Volunteer Bid Writer to help secure funding that enables us to deliver life-changing education, employability, mentoring and community programmes across the UK and also internationally.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting a growing social enterprise dedicated to creating pathways into education, employment and entrepreneurship for individuals facing barriers to opportunities.
As a Volunteer Bid Writer, you will research and identify funding opportunities, develop high-quality grant applications and prepare compelling tender responses for government departments, local authorities, combined authorities, charitable trusts, foundations and corporate funders. You will also support applications to public sector procurement frameworks and Dynamic Purchasing Systems (DPS), helping Futureents expand its delivery of education, skills, employability and social value programmes.
The role includes identifying and writing bids for opportunities from organisations and programmes such as the Department for Education (DfE), Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG), UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), Adult Skills Fund (ASF), National Lottery Community Fund, local authorities, mayoral combined authorities, charitable foundations, Crown Commercial Service (CCS) frameworks, Find a Tender, Contracts Finder, Proactis, Delta eSourcing, In-Tend, Jaggaer, Fusion21 and other education, employability and community commissioning frameworks.
Although this is a voluntary role, Futureents believes in recognising exceptional contributions. Volunteers who make a significant contribution to securing successful funding may be eligible for a performance-based Bid Success Incentive. Subject to the funding being formally awarded, accepted and received by Futureents, successful bids of up to £30,000 may qualify for a 5% incentive, while successful bids of £100,000 or more may qualify for a 3% incentive. Where bids are developed collaboratively, any incentive may be shared proportionately based on each volunteer's contribution. The incentive scheme is discretionary and does not alter the voluntary nature of the role.
This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop valuable experience in bid writing, fundraising, public sector procurement, business development and project design while making a measurable difference to communities. Your work will directly contribute to securing investment that helps people access education, develop new skills, find sustainable employment and improve their future prospects. Whether you are an experienced bid writer or looking to build your expertise, you will be part of a purpose-driven organisation committed to creating lasting social impact.
