Clinic Administrator / Clinic Assistant
Sussex Fertility & Gynaecology
Location: Hybrid (Remote and Clinic-Based, West Sussex)
Hours: Approximately 5 hours per week initially, with the potential to increase as the practice grows
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About Us
Sussex Fertility & Gynaecology is a growing private fertility and gynaecology practice dedicated to providing compassionate, personalised care to women and couples.
We are looking for an organised, proactive and friendly Clinic Administrator / Clinic Assistant to support our Consultant and Medical Secretary. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in women's health and fertility who would like to grow with an expanding private practice.
The Role
You will play an important part in ensuring the smooth running of the clinic by supporting both patients and the clinical team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Managing patient telephone and email enquiries
- Booking and coordinating appointments
- Arranging blood tests, scans and investigations
- Liaising with hospitals, laboratories and partner clinics
- Maintaining accurate patient records and clinic systems
- Preparing and sending patient correspondence
- Supporting the Consultant and Medical Secretary with day-to-day administration
- Providing cover during annual leave and periods of absence
- Assisting with general clinic administration as the practice develops
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
- Friendly, approachable and compassionate
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- A confident communicator, both by telephone and email
- Able to work independently as well as within a small team
- Reliable, flexible and proactive
- Experienced in administration and customer service
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and digital systems
- Able to manage confidential information with discretion
Desirable
- Previous experience in healthcare or medical administration
- Experience working within private healthcare
- An interest in fertility, gynaecology or women's health
- Experience with electronic patient record or clinic management systems (desirable but not essential)
This role would suit someone looking for flexible part-time work, such as an experienced medical secretary or healthcare administrator, someone returning to work after a career break, or a retired NHS administrator. We are looking for someone who would enjoy growing with the practice as it expands.
