We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Head Dog Groomer who would love the opportunity to grow with us, help shape our new salon and become an important part of the Northcote Hounds team.
The Role
As our Head Dog Groomer, you will take the lead in delivering exceptional grooming services while helping us establish the highest standards of care, customer service and salon presentation.
You will be confident working with dogs of different breeds, sizes, coat types and temperaments. Most importantly, you will genuinely adore dogs and understand how to create a calm and reassuring grooming experience, particularly for nervous or anxious pets.

Key Responsibilities
- Delivering high quality full grooms, breed standard cuts, styling, bathing, drying, clipping, scissoring, nail trimming and general coat care
- Ensuring every dog is handled safely, patiently and compassionately
- Carrying out consultations with owners and clearly discussing their dog’s grooming requirements
- Helping to create a calm, clean and welcoming salon environment
- Maintaining excellent hygiene, health and safety, and equipment care standards
- Managing appointments efficiently without compromising the welfare of the dogs
- Building positive, long lasting relationships with clients and their pets
- Supporting and guiding other members of the grooming team as the salon grows
- Contributing ideas and helping to develop the salon’s services, standards and reputation
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has at least two years of professional dog-grooming experience
- Holds a recognised Level 3 Dog Grooming qualification
- Has strong clipping, scissoring and finishing skills
- Is confident grooming a wide variety of breeds and coat types
- Has a calm, gentle and patient approach
- Understands canine behaviour and can recognise signs of stress or discomfort
- Is reliable, organised and able to manage a busy appointment schedule
- Has excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and professional workspace
- Is a positive, supportive and dependable team player
Pay: £30,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
