PLANT OPERATIVE
ROLE OVERVIEW
Clinipower Avonmouth LLP (CAL) are now looking for a Plant Operative to join our growing team in Avonmouth, preferably with heavy industry or waste related work environment experience.
CAL operate renewable energy and waste plants at their site in Avonmouth and have been directly servicing the NHS for a number of years, most recently as a Cabinet Office “Critical Services Supplier” through the COVID19 pandemic. The operation has been helping the NHS achieve their Net Zero ambitions by reducing their carbon impact, recovering valuable by-products from non-recyclable, difficult wastes and generating usable renewable energy in the most environmentally friendly manner
Based at a busy and high-tempo facility on the outskirts of Bristol, you will join a shift team and work closely with your supervisor to ensure the plants operate to their full potential and in doing so support the national efforts in the sector during this difficult time.
The successful candidate will join a rotating continental shift pattern of 12hr shifts, 4 on 4 off which averages 42 hours per week.
Important: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a brief site visit and practical assessment, where photo ID and right to work documentation will be checked. We only progress applicants who attend.

WHAT WE OFFER:
- From £14.00 - £14.50 per hour (Higher rate applies on Supervisor sign-off)

THE ROLE
- Maximise throughput by loading the plant at an appropriate rate and mix/blend – where unsure seek guidance from Supervisor/Team Leader
- Assist drivers with unloading /loading of vehicles when instructed to do so to ensure quick turnaround of company vehicles
- Working as part of the site team carry out duties to assist other parts of the operation
- Load /unload trailers and/or containers as instructed to do so
- Operate plant in line with regulation, site permits and consents
- Carry out all required operational checks and/or maintenance on site and equipment in accordance with PPM schedule
- Working with Supervisor/Team leader use initiative to solve problems as they occur
- There may be some driving work as part of the role.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
- No specialist experience required.

- Self-motivated and enthusiastic
- Good communication skills
- Ability to pick things up quickly
- Comfortable with a role that is manual in nature in a waste environment
PROGRESSION:
High performers will be considered for available Acting Supervisor/Supervisor roles at the higher end of the hourly rate range. Progression is merit-based and subject to assessment and sign-off with input from the existing supervisory team.
