Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and organised Session Lead (could be a job shared) to work at weekends (Saturdays) and during school holidays, with the Operations Manager to ensure safe, effective and professional delivery of all F6IT sessions, in line with the organisation’s safeguarding, operational and Health & Safety standards. You would act as the primary contact on-site for Volunteers, Participants, Families and venue staff.
Duties
- To oversee and coordinate all F6IT activities running at the same venue and time
- To ensure all Coaches/Teachers/Volunteers are briefed on their roles, responsibilities and safeguarding procedures.
- To implement the current F6IT Operational Plan and relevant Risk Assessments.
- To act as the designated Safeguarding Lead, First Aid Lead and Manual Handling Lead during the sessions.
- To ensure safe use and storage of equipment, including charging hoists where appropriate.
- To monitor participant wellbeing and inclusion throughout the session.
- To report any incidents, accidents, or safeguarding concerns immediately in the incident book and directly to the Operations Manager.
- To complete and submit the participant register and End of Session Report within 24 hours of each session.
- To send out the post-session feedback form.
- To always represent F6IT professionally, maintaining confidentiality and upholding its values and policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience, working with children and young people with additional needs and disabilities (including complex impairments)
- Manual Handling, Safeguarding and First Aid experience in previous roles. [ongoing training will be provided by F6IT]
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an effective communicator with a range of stakeholders, both written and verbal
- Experience of leading small teams and managing events or activities
- Good attention to detail and quality orientated
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Good IT and Tech literacy
- Prepared and able to travel across Surrey and between venues on some shifts, for example between Haslemere and Guildford or to Ewhurst. Expenses for this will be covered within policy.
- A passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs and disabilities.
- Experience in the use of Makaton signing and other alternative augmentative communication systems.
