Homes Care Group is recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join our Ofsted-rated Good Children's Home in the LE5 Humberstone area.

Purpose of the Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key leadership role within the home, taking responsibility for leading shifts and supporting the day-to-day operation of the service.
You will provide consistent, trauma-informed care for children with complex learning disability needs while mentoring and supervising Residential Support Workers and promoting excellent standards of care.
Working alongside the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager, you will help create a safe, structured and nurturing environment where children are supported to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead shifts and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the home, providing supervision to residential support staff.
- Deliver high-quality emotional, behavioural and practical support in line with each child's care plan.
- Lead by example and support, mentor and develop Residential Support Workers.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with children who may have experienced trauma, abuse or neglect.
- Maintain a safe, consistent and structured home environment with clear expectations and routines.
- Apply trauma-informed approaches to support emotional regulation and manage challenging behaviour.
- Act as a Key Worker and contribute to care planning, placement planning and risk assessments.
- Promote independence, life skills and positive outcomes for each child.
- Support children to attend education, health appointments, therapy sessions and recreational activities.
- Plan and participate in meaningful activities that promote development, confidence and wellbeing.
- Complete accurate daily recordings, incident reports, medication records and handovers.
- Ensure medication is administered safely and recorded in accordance with organisational policies.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, schools, healthcare professionals, therapists and families.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children in accordance with statutory guidance and organisational procedures.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision and ongoing professional development.
- Undertake sleep-in duties and provide flexibility to work across local homes where required.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 12 months' experience working within a Children's Residential Care setting.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Previous experience leading or supervising shifts is desirable.
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding, child development and trauma-informed practice.
- Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills.
- Ability to remain calm, resilient and compassionate in challenging situations.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Level 4 qualification in Children and Young People's Workforce (or willingness to work towards one).
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays and sleep-ins.
- Willingness to work across homes within approximately a 5-6 mile radius if required.
