Santa Pod Raceway is located in Podington, Bedfordshire and is proudly recognised as Europe’s first permanent drag racing venue. Today, we host over 50 events during our main season, welcoming a diverse range of audiences to drag racing championships, car club events, festivals, and family and lifestyle events — all under our brand ethos: Feel the Noise.
The Role
We are seeking a professional, friendly, and organised Reception & Customer Services Assistant to join our busy Front of House team. This is a varied role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and thrives in a fast-paced, event-led environment. We are looking for someone to support the team at weekends as well as fill the occasional mid week shift. Anticipated hours are from 8.5-25.5 per week, often more throughout Summer.
As a key member of the front-line team, you will be the first point of contact for customers, visitors, and clients. This includes handling enquiries and ticket sales over the phone, via email, live chat and social media channels, as well as face-to-face support at reception and during event weekends.
You will also play an important role in supporting the general office and assisting with event preparation and delivery throughout the season.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Service & Enquiries
- Handling customer enquiries via telephone, email, live chat, and social media platforms
- Processing ticket sales and customer queries using the ticketing system
- Providing a professional, friendly first point of contact for customers and visitors
- Managing face-to-face customer interactions during busy event weekend
- Reception & Office Support
- Answering incoming calls
- Meeting and greeting visitors
- Supporting general administration, clerical tasks, and data input
- Postal and courier duties
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming reception and office environment
- Assisting with ad hoc tasks as required
Events Support
· Supporting the Events team in the build-up to and delivery of events
· Assisting with event set-up and front-of-house preparation
· Providing reception and customer support during major event weekends
· Offering flexibility to support peak periods throughout the season
Skills & Attributes
· Confident, professional, and friendly communication style is essential
· Strong customer service skills across phone, digital, and face-to-face channels
· Calm, organised, and able to work well under pressure
· Strong interpersonal skills and a positive team-focused attitude
· Able to use initiative and manage a varied workload
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
· Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends during the event season
· Own transport compulsory due to location
Additional Information
· Full training will be provided on ticketing systems and internal processes
· Overtime opportunities may be available during peak event periods
· Weekend working may reduce during the non-racing winter season
Pay: £10.50-£12.80 per hour
