Weekend Bakery Assistant (Cakes) required on a temporary basis.
Saturdays 7am - 3pm.
2-3month contract, with the possibility to stay on additionally after.
Duties
- Assist in preparing and baking a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and cakes, following established recipes and safety standards
- Support food preparation tasks such as mixing, portioning, and decorating baked items to ensure presentation quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bakery workspace, including equipment and utensils
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure all products meet health standards
- Help with stocking ingredients and supplies to keep the bakery well-equipped for weekend operations
- Provide friendly customer service by packaging baked goods and answering basic product questions when needed
- Support team members during busy periods by efficiently managing multiple tasks in the kitchen environment
Experience
- Previous experience in food production, baking, or kitchen work is preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are key
- Familiarity with food safety practices and hygiene standards in a commercial kitchen or restaurant setting is advantageous
- Basic culinary skills such as food preparation and cooking techniques are beneficial
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment or restaurant experience will help you excel in this role
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with bakery work is essential
