Support Worker – Specialist Care. Female applicants only, driving license is required.
Location: Client’s home environment
Hours: 22 hours week one, 8 hours week two
Shifts: Two-week rolling rota, including every other weekend
week 1: Monday and Tuesday evenings 16:00-20:00, Saturday and Sunday 09:00-16:00
week 2: Monday and Tuesday evenings 16:00-20:00
Rate: £17.50 weekdays £18.50 weekends
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate support worker to support a young adult with cerebral palsy in her home and local community. This is a rewarding role for a dedicated care professional who is confident working independently and supporting a small team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
About the Role
As support worker, you will play a role in ensuring the client’s complex needs are met safely and consistently. You will be organised, have experience of working with young people who have physical or learning disabilities and able to adapt to changing situations with professionalism and empathy. You will be expected to transport the client to local community and social events in her wheelchair adapted vehicle, and so will need a full driving license.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, person-centred care in line with the client’s individual care plan
- Work independently while supporting and assisting other care staff as needed
- Support the client’s daily care needs and routines
- Support the client within her home and local community environment as required
- Maintain clear communication with family members, professionals, and the wider care team
- Administer medication with training provided
- Ensure care is delivered safely, respectfully, and in line with best practice
Client’s Care Needs Include
- Gastrostomy (PEG) feeding
- Hoisting and moving and handling in line with plan
- Assistive communication
- Spasticity management
- Support with daily living activities
