Are you a compassionate, patient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference?
We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tottenham that is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Alternative Resource Provision (ARP) on a full-time, long-term basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity to support children with additional needs in a specialist setting, helping them to develop academically, socially and emotionally within a nurturing environment.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant within the ARP, you will:
- Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism (ASC), Speech & Language needs and associated learning needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher and wider multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised learning and interventions.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and independence.
- Support pupils both within the provision and, where appropriate, during integration into mainstream classroom activities.
- Use positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to help pupils regulate their emotions and succeed throughout the school day.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working with children with Special Educational Needs, either in a school or similar setting.
- Is patient, caring and resilient.
- Can build strong relationships with children who require additional support.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is proactive, adaptable and passionate about inclusive education.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or is willing to obtain one).
- Has the right to work in the UK.
