About the Role
Gables Pharmacy is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as a Pharmacy Apprentice Assistant.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who would like to start a career in pharmacy and healthcare. You do not need previous pharmacy experience, as full training will be provided alongside a recognised pharmacy qualification.
You will work as part of an experienced pharmacy team, learning how a busy community pharmacy operates while developing your customer service, dispensing and healthcare skills.
Your Responsibilities
As you develop within the role, your duties will include:
- Assisting with the dispensing and preparation of prescriptions under the supervision of the Pharmacist and pharmacy team.
- Providing friendly and professional customer service to patients.
- Communicating clearly with patients, GP surgeries and other healthcare professionals.
- Helping patients with over-the-counter medicines and pharmacy products within your level of training.
- Receiving and putting away pharmacy stock.
- Completing stock rotation and date checking.
- Maintaining accurate pharmacy records.
- Following pharmacy Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and confidentiality requirements.
- Keeping the pharmacy clean, tidy and organised.
- Supporting the team with the day-to-day running of a busy community pharmacy.
- Undertaking additional duties as required by the Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager.

Qualifications
- GCSEs or equivalent are preferred, particularly English and Maths.
- Previous pharmacy experience is not required.
- Full apprenticeship training will be provided.

Working Hours
This is a full-time apprenticeship position.

Pay
From £8.00 per hour, subject to age, apprenticeship year and statutory National Minimum Wage requirements.
