We are looking for an experienced Caravan & Motorhome Technician with a particular specialisation in caravan chassis servicing to join our growing workshop. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician who takes pride in delivering exceptional workmanship and enjoys working on the mechanical and running gear aspects of touring caravans, while also carrying out general servicing and repairs on caravans and motorhomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing and repairs on caravans and motorhomes.
- Specialise in caravan chassis servicing, including running gear, braking systems, suspension, wheel bearings, hubs, hitch assemblies, corner steadies, and axle inspections.
- Diagnose and repair faults relating to electrical, gas, plumbing, heating, and habitation systems.
- Conduct habitation checks, damp inspections, and pre-delivery inspections (PDIs).
- Install accessories including motor movers, solar panels, air conditioning, alarms, reversing cameras, and other customer upgrades.
- Complete warranty, insurance, and customer repair work to a high standard.
- Ensure all work complies with current safety regulations and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate job records and contribute to a safe, clean, and organised workshop.
About You
- Proven experience as a Caravan & Motorhome Technician.
- Strong knowledge and experience of caravan chassis servicing and maintenance is essential.
- Excellent understanding of braking systems, running gear, suspension, wheel bearings, hitches, and axle components.
- AWS (Approved Workshop Scheme) accreditation is desirable but not essential.
- Good knowledge of 12V and 230V electrical systems, LPG gas appliances, water systems, and habitation equipment.
- Excellent diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
