Who are we looking for?
The successful candidate will be supporting our solicitors within the Medical Negligence Department. We welcome candidates with previous experience in medical negligence, though this is not essential. A law degree (LLB or equivalent) is required for this role.
Core duties include supporting the lawyers within the team, some examples:
- Supporting solicitors with day-to-day case handling
- Communicating with clients where appropriate
- Maintaining and updating client files
- Reviewing case files and keeping the legal team informed
- Drafting basic statements and legal documentation
- Conducting legal research as requested by senior team members
- Assisting with general client matters and departmental administration
The successful candidate will have a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude to enable them to work closely with a team of legal fee-earners, paralegals and legal assistants on all aspects of this work, and may have a fee earning target themselves. The ability to work as part of a team is therefore essential together with excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
What do we offer?
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate with the potential for longer-term career advancement in our forward-thinking law firm, with a well-established client base. Along with this we will provide you with a competitive salary, pension, 30 days holiday and Private Medical Health Insurance; in addition, we will even give you your birthday off every year too!
