We are looking for a reliable and safety-conscious Goods In & Out Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on role at the heart of our operation, responsible for the safe receipt, storage and dispatch of materials and finished goods. Using both FLT (Forklift Truck) and overhead crane equipment, you will play a key role in ensuring products move efficiently through the site whilst maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy and housekeeping.

Shift pattern
Monday-Thursday 7:30am-4:15pm
Fridays 7:30am-1:00pm
This role is based at our site, Vetchberry Steels - B6 7BN

Receive, check and accurately book in incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
- Carry out inspections of incoming materials to ensure quality and compliance with requirements.
- Safely store, stack and organise materials within the warehouse and designated storage areas.
- Maintain accurate stock records and update the computerised stock control system and associated documentation.
- Support stock accuracy through regular checks and effective inventory management practices.
- Carry out general warehouse duties, ensuring high standards of housekeeping and adherence to 6S principles.
- Ensure all materials and products are handled, moved and stored safely to prevent damage and maintain compliance with Health & Safety procedures.
- Process customer and internal orders accurately, ensuring all specified requirements are met.
- Promote continuous improvement activities to maximise productivity, improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Ensure all stock control processes, records and documentation are maintained in line with company quality standards and operating procedures.
- Operate Forklift Trucks (FLT) and overhead cranes safely and efficiently when moving materials and finished goods.
- Support loading and unloading activities, ensuring goods are processed accurately and on time.
