Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef/Manager to lead our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food production. Responsibilities
- Lead the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations and high standards of food quality.
- Make sure food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet customer expectations and company standards.
- Manage food production schedules, inventory control, and procurement to optimise efficiency and minimise waste.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety regulations and hygiene standards across the kitchen.
- Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management, keeping up-to-date with current culinary trends.
- Provide training and mentorship to kitchen staff, promoting professional development and team cohesion.
- Monitor staff performance, conduct appraisals, and manage scheduling to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
- Collaborate with front-of-house teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Experience
- Proven experience within a fast-paced culinary environment, ideally within a cafe/restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Extensive background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques.
- Demonstrable leadership skills with the ability to manage teams effectively under pressure.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
- Previous experience in restaurant management or as a head chef is highly desirable.
