Are you a reliable, friendly driver who takes pride in providing a great service to your local community? Allied Pharmacy in Torrington is looking for a Delivery Driver to join our team and help ensure our patients receive their medication safely, promptly and with a smile.
In this important role, you'll be the face of our pharmacy for many of our patients, particularly those who are housebound or unable to collect their prescriptions in person. You'll play a key part in supporting their health and wellbeing through a dependable, caring delivery service.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver prescriptions and pharmacy items to patients' homes and other locations in and around Torrington
- Plan efficient delivery routes to ensure timely service
- Handle medication securely and in line with pharmacy procedures and confidentiality requirements
- Obtain and record signatures or confirmations where needed
- Provide a courteous, professional point of contact for patients at the doorstep
- Assist with light duties in the pharmacy between deliveries, such as sorting and preparing orders
- Keep the delivery vehicle clean, tidy and roadworthy, reporting any issues promptly
What we're looking for:
- A full, valid UK driving licence with a good driving record
- A friendly, patient and respectful manner, especially when working with elderly or vulnerable people
- Reliability, punctuality and a strong sense of responsibility
- Good local knowledge of Torrington and the surrounding area (or the confidence to learn quickly)
- The ability to work independently and manage your time well
- An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and discretion
