Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Waiter/Host to join our vibrant restaurant team. This role involves welcoming guests, managing reservations, and delivering exceptional service to ensure a memorable dining experience. Previous experience in a restaurant environment is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage reservations efficiently
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus with enthusiasm
- Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special requests are noted
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness
- Upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Ensure all health and safety regulations, including food safety standards, are adhered to during service
- Assist with setting up tables, clearing dishes, and maintaining a tidy dining area throughout service
- Provide attentive guest services, addressing any concerns or special requirements courteously
- Support kitchen staff with basic food preparation or organisation tasks when needed
- Handle cash or card transactions accurately at the end of each shift
Experience
- Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant service is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Knowledge of food safety standards and basic food preparation techniques is desirable
- Familiarity with kitchen operations or culinary experience can be beneficial in understanding menu offerings and guest needs
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Excellent communication skills to engage with guests professionally and courteously
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing purposes
- Experience in upselling menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue generation
