Experienced General Builder – Self-Employed CIS
Location: Flintshire, Chester, Wrexham and surrounding areas
Contract: Full-time, self-employed CIS subcontractor
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced, reliable and versatile general builder to join our established team on a self-employed CIS basis.
The role involves varied building, structural repair, garage conversion and property maintenance work across Flintshire, Chester, Wrexham and the surrounding areas.
Applicants are not expected to be specialists in every trade. However, you must have strong general building experience, be confident undertaking a range of tasks and consistently produce tidy, professional work.
Regular, long-term work and full-time hours are available for the right person.
Typical Work Will Include
* Garage conversions
* Structural alterations and structural repairs
* Constructing timber stud walls and internal partitions
* Installing insulation and plasterboard
* Basic first-fix and second-fix joinery
* Fitting skirting boards and architraves
* Brickwork and masonry repairs
* Lintel installation and replacement
* Damp-proofing and associated remedial works
* Removing damaged plaster and preparing areas for reinstatement
* Basic plastering and rendering repairs
* Concrete and floor repairs
* General internal and external building repairs
* Basic plumbing, including fitting taps, wastes, traps and sanitaryware
* Minor pipework alterations and straightforward leak repairs
* Connecting kitchen and utility appliances where required
* Working alongside other trades and members of our team
* Keeping all working areas clean, safe and organised
Requirements
The successful applicant must:
* Have proven experience working as a general builder
* Be competent in timber studwork, plasterboarding, skirting boards and architraves
* Be capable of undertaking garage conversions and general building work
* Have basic plumbing knowledge and practical experience
* Produce work to a consistently high standard
* Be reliable, punctual and professional
* Be able to work independently and as part of a team
* Follow site health and safety requirements
* Be respectful when working in customers’ homes and commercial properties
* Hold a full UK driving licence
* Be registered, or willing to register, under the CIS scheme
* Have their own suitable hand tools and power tools
Pay And Benefits
* £17.00–£22.00 per hour, depending on experience and ability
* Approximately 40 hours per week
* Regular, long-term work

Applicants should live within a reasonable travelling distance of Flintshire.
Pay: £17.00-£22.50 per hour
