We are seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to join our team, providing exceptional support in food service and event catering. The successful candidate will assist with meal preparation, serve guests, and ensure the smooth operation of catering services. Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and safety regulations
- Serve meals and beverages to guests in a courteous and professional manner
- Support the setup and breakdown of catering events, including arranging tables, chairs, and serving stations
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and service areas throughout shifts
- Deliver catering orders to designated locations, adhering to delivery schedules and safety protocols
- Ensure food safety standards are consistently upheld during all stages of food handling and service
- Provide excellent guest services by addressing customer needs promptly and politely
- Follow phone etiquette when taking orders or coordinating with clients or team members
- Assist with inventory management, including stock replenishment and storage organisation
Skills
- Previous experience in hospitality, food preparation, or restaurant settings is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential
- Cooking or culinary experience will be considered a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with guests and team members
- Ability to serve efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Organised with excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Friendly demeanour with a professional attitude towards guest services
- Basic knowledge of meal preparation techniques and kitchen operations
- Good phone etiquette for taking orders or coordinating event details
