Graduate Quantity Surveyor
HOG Group Ltd
London & South East | Full-Time | Predominantly Remote with Regular Site Visits | Permanent
About Us
HOG Group is a growing commercial fit-out contractor delivering high-quality CAT A, CAT A+ and CAT B office refurbishment projects across London and the South East.
With over 40 years of industry experience, we work with landlords, occupiers, developers and asset managers to transform commercial spaces. As our business continues to grow, we're looking for an ambitious Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and build a long-term career with us.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience across the full commercial lifecycle of construction projects. Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and Directors, you'll receive ongoing mentoring while developing the technical, commercial and contractual skills needed to become a successful Quantity Surveyor.
This is a predominantly remote role, giving you the flexibility to work from home while managing your own workload. However, as this is a construction-based position, regular travel to live project sites, client meetings will be required. You should be comfortable working independently, communicating effectively with the wider team remotely, and travelling across the Home Counties, London and the South East as required.
From day one, you'll be involved in live projects from tender stage through to final account, gaining valuable experience and responsibility from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with tender pricing and cost planning.
- Measure quantities from drawings and specifications.
- Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Assist with procurement and preparation of subcontract packages.
- Prepare purchase orders and subcontract documentation.
- Support valuations, variations and cost reporting.
- Assist with project cash flow forecasting and commercial reporting.
- Attend site visits, client meetings and progress meetings.
- Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation.
- Work closely with the delivery team to ensure projects remain commercially successful.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- A degree (or is due to graduate) in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related construction discipline.
- A genuine interest in commercial office fit-out and refurbishment.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- The ability to work well independently and within a collaborative team.
- A full UK driving licence (or the ability to travel independently) is desirable.
Previous industry experience is beneficial but not essential.
What We Offer
- Structured mentoring from experienced commercial professionals.
- Exposure to prestigious commercial office fit-out projects.
- Clear career progression within a growing business.
- Ongoing professional development.
- Flexible remote working.
- Competitive salary.
- Company pension.
- Annual leave plus bank holidays.
- A supportive and collaborative working environment.
Why Join HOG Group?
This isn't a role where you'll spend months making coffee or filing paperwork.
You'll gain genuine responsibility from the outset, working on live projects and learning directly from experienced professionals who are invested in your development. If you're ambitious, eager to learn and looking to build a successful career in Quantity Surveying, we'd love to hear from you.
