About the Role
We are looking for a talented and experienced baker to join our expanding team. The successful candidate will have at least 5 years' experience bakery experience. We are a small, tight-knit team from all walks of life and ages who enjoy good humour and getting the job done — we take great pride in our work.
This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, split across 5 x 8-hour shifts between Monday and Sunday. Early starts and some weekend work are part of the job.

Role / Key Tasks
- Work as part of a team under the Head Baker to fulfil the day's orders and prepare for the following morning's bake schedule.
- Slow-ferment bread preparation, including sourdoughs and yeasted breads.
- Lamination work and preparation of pastry orders.
- A small amount of admin — keeping HACCP records and updating orders and/or standing orders for customers.
- Assist with daily clean-down and aspects of full clean.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will have at least 5 years' experience as a baker, including working with slow-fermented doughs. Experience of viennoiserie would be desirable. They will take pride in their work even when under pressure to get a high volume of product out of the oven, and will work closely with the team — getting on well with others is important. Good timekeeping and attention to detail are essential.
Essential
- Experience working in a bakery, with the ability to demonstrate production of slow-fermented bread (including sourdough), laminated pastry, and viennoiserie.
- Experience working within a team, operating flexibly and openly, and leading others in their tasks.
- Good timekeeping.
- Computer literate — bakers carry out a small amount of admin processing orders and mix schedules.
Desirable
- A fast learner.
- Good communicator.
- Able to shape dough with both hands at the same time.
- Experience with baking software such as Cybake.
- A good sense of humour.
