Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home (3/4 bed, 1 child)
Location: Northampton
Salary: Competitive (DOE) + Performance Bonus
Contract: Full-Time | Permanent
Make a Real Difference, Every Day
Not every children's home is the same.
Our home is intentionally small, supporting just one or two children at a time. This allows us to provide truly personalised care, build meaningful relationships, and create positive, lasting outcomes.
We're looking for an experienced Registered Manager who shares our values and wants to lead a home where quality of care always comes before numbers.
As a family-run organisation, we offer a supportive environment where your experience is respected, your ideas are welcomed, and you'll have direct access to senior leadership.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to:
- Lead a settled, child-focused residential home.
- Build and develop a committed, motivated staff team.
- Deliver outstanding care that genuinely changes young people's lives.
- Be part of a growing organisation with clear opportunities for career progression.
- Work for a company where decisions are made quickly and support is always available.
Your Role
You'll be responsible for the overall leadership and management of the home, ensuring children receive the highest standards of care while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the home.
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Regulations.
- Leading, coaching and developing your staff team.
- Promoting a culture centred on safeguarding, stability and positive outcomes.
- Building strong relationships with local authorities, professionals and partner agencies.
- Monitoring quality, improving practice and striving for excellent inspection outcomes.
What You'll Bring
We're looking for someone with the experience, confidence and passion to lead by example.
Essential:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Children's Residential Services (or currently working towards it).
- Minimum of two years' experience in children's residential care.
- At least one year's experience in a supervisory or management position.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations and children's legislation.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager.
- Experience supporting homes to achieve Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings.
What You'll Receive
- Competitive salary based on experience.
- Performance-related bonus.
- Small home environment supporting only 1–2 children.
- Ongoing training and continuous professional development.
- Supportive family-run business with approachable senior leaders.
- Genuine opportunities to progress into dual registration and senior management as the organisation grows.
- The opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children and young people.
