We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Individual to join our culinary team at Superstars Cafe Cookstown! Superstars supports young people with learning disabilities, so experience with people with learning disabilities is desirable. This at present is currently for Saturdays only. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, high-quality meals that delight our guests and uphold our commitment to food safety and excellence. Your enthusiasm for cooking and kitchen experience will help create a welcoming environment where flavor, presentation, and customer satisfaction come together seamlessly. Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of menu items with precision, consistency, and attention to detail
- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety standards
- Follow recipes and portion controls to ensure quality and consistency across all dishes
- Support the team during busy service hours by efficiently managing meal preparation and plating
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and leftovers to prevent waste and maintain freshness
- Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen roles within a restaurant or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and meal preparation processes
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards serving customers
- Prior experience in serving or customer service roles is a plus but not mandatory
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Experience of persons with learning disabilities
