Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Laundry Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and hygienic processing of laundry items, primarily within a hospitality environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced setting, supporting the cleanliness and presentation standards of our establishment. Previous hotel experience is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided. The position is fully paid and suitable for individuals committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and organisation.
Responsibilities
- Operate laundry machinery such as washers, dryers, and pressing equipment with care and precision
- Sort, fold, and package clean linen and textiles according to established procedures
- Ensure all laundry items are processed efficiently to meet daily operational targets
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the laundry area, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly to management
- Assist with stock control by monitoring supplies of detergents, chemicals, and linen stock levels
- Follow all hygiene standards and procedures to uphold the quality of laundry services provided
Skills
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality laundry environment is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy environment
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads safely
- Excellent time management skills to ensure deadlines are met consistently
- Reliable team player with a proactive attitude towards tasks and responsibilities
