The Role in One Sentence
To take the daily operational weight off the fee earner - keeping files moving, clients informed, and the inbox under control - so the fee earner can focus on legal work and business development.
What You'll Do
Client & Third Party Communication
- First point of contact for incoming calls and emails during working hours
- Proactive chasing of clients, estate agents, lenders, and the other side's solicitors
- Keeping clients updated on the progress of their matter — no client should have to chase us
File & Case Management
- Updating and maintaining files on LEAP accurately and consistently
- Preparing and sending initial client care packs and onboarding documents
- ID checks and AML compliance documentation under supervision
- Completion statement preparation support and post-completion filing
Diary & Admin Support
- Managing conveyancing diary — calls, deadlines, key dates
- Flagging anything urgent or stuck before it becomes a problem
- Weekly file review — a short written summary of where every active matter stands
What You Won't Do
- Give legal advice or guide clients on substantive legal matters
- Make decisions on files without sign-off
What Good Looks Like at 90 Days
- Every active file has a current, accurate status on LEAP
- No client has to chase us for an update
- A weekly file summary lands without being asked
What We're Looking For
- A legal background — paralegal, legal secretary, or similar
- Some exposure to conveyancing is preferred but not essential — the right attitude and work ethic matter more
- Comfortable working remotely and independently without daily hand-holding
- Confident on the phone with clients and third parties
- LEAP experience is a bonus — not a dealbreaker, it can be learned
What You'll Get
