Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths & 11+ Tutor to inspire and support students in developing their mathematical skills and preparing for the 11+ entrance exams. Responsibilities
- Deliver dynamic and personalized tutoring sessions focused on mathematics and 11+ exam preparation
- Assess each student’s current understanding and tailor lesson plans accordingly to maximize progress
- Use effective teaching strategies to clarify complex concepts and foster a positive learning environment
- Track student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to students and parents
- Prepare students for the specific format and content of the 11+ entrance exams through targeted practice exercises
- Support students with special educational needs by adapting teaching methods as required
- Maintain accurate records of lessons, attendance, and student development
Experience
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching mathematics at primary and secondary levels
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, including those with special educational needs
- Strong communication skills to engage students, parents, and colleagues clearly and confidently
- Familiarity with the structure and content of higher GCSE Maths exams is a requirement.
- Familiarity with the structure and content of the 11+ entrance exams is highly desirable
- Previous experience in a classroom or tutoring environment that emphasizes personalized learning approaches
