Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Psychologist to join our specialised team. The successful candidate will support clinical staff in delivering high-quality care to individuals with diverse needs, including those with autism and other disabilities. Duties
- Assist in implementing behavioural programmes based on applied behaviour analysis (ABA) techniques for children and adults with autism and other disabilities
- Support completing risk assessements and risk management profiles.
- Support with psychometrics
- support with other talking therapy programmes
- Support the delivery of patient care, including medication administration under supervision and monitoring patient wellbeing
- Contribute to behavioural assessments and data collection to inform treatment plans
- Support the organisation and facilitation of specialised educational activities tailored to individual needs
- Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent and effective support strategies
- Engage with children and individuals with disabilities in a respectful, empathetic manner to promote positive behavioural outcomes
- Maintain accurate records of interventions, progress notes, and other documentation as required
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions aimed at enhancing clinical skills and knowledge
Skills
- Experience working with children, particularly within educational or healthcare settings
- Knowledge of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) principles and their practical application
- Prior experience working with individuals with autism or disabilities is highly desirable
- Understanding of special education practices and inclusive teaching strategies
- Ability to administer medication safely following prescribed protocols
- Strong patient care skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and data collection
- Effective communication skills, capable of working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams
