Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and organised Finance Assistant to manage day-to-day financial records and ensure accurate bookkeeping for the business. The role is suited to someone with strong attention to detail, good accounting knowledge, and the ability to work independently.
Working Hours; Part Time 16-20 hours
Possibility of temp to perm
Duties
- Maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and on time
- Maintaining accounts payable and accounts receivable records
- Assisting with bank reconciliations and cash posting
- Preparing and processing expense claims
- Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
- Supporting payroll administration (where required)
- Assisting with month‑end and year‑end procedures
- Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems
- Liaising with external accountants and auditors
- Using sage 50 accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting
- Providing general administrative support to the finance team
Essential Experience
- Previous experience as an account’s assistant or bookkeeper
- Experience using sage 50
- Strong IT skills and some knowledge of Transport Management Systems
- Ability work within a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- AAT accounting qualification
- Relevant Bookkeeping or Accounting qualification
