Working across a variety of utility and civil engineering projects, you will carry out excavations ranging from shallow service trenches to complex deep excavations exceeding 6 metres, primarily for foul water sewer repairs and associated infrastructure works.
Safety is our highest priority. Every excavation is planned and completed in accordance with current legislation, industry best practice, and company procedures. Full training, mentoring, and company-funded qualifications will be provided to ensure every member of our team has the skills and knowledge to work safely and confidently.
The Role
As a Deep Excavation Team Operative, you will work as part of a skilled and supportive team delivering high-quality excavation and utility works across a range of locations.
You will be expected to:
- Carry out excavations from shallow depths to over 6 metres.
- Work safely within trench support systems, shoring, and temporary works.
- Operate excavators ranging from 1.5-tonne mini excavators up to 21-tonne tracked excavators.
- Operate dumpers and other plant where qualified.
- Excavate around existing underground utilities safely and accurately.
- Repair foul water sewers and assist with associated utility works.
- Install, inspect, and maintain excavation support systems where required.
- Carry out reinstatement and backfilling works to the required specification.
- Complete daily plant checks and report defects.
- Follow site drawings, specifications, and supervisors' instructions.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, clients, and members of the public when necessary.
- Ensure all work complies with Health & Safety legislation, company procedures, and client requirements.

Essential Requirements
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Excavator ticket.
- Cat & Genny 1 & 2 certification.
- Previous excavation experience.
- Full UK Driving Licence (preferred).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable Qualifications
- NRSWA Streetworks accreditation.
- Confined Space certification.
- Deep Excavation experience.
- First Aid at Work.
- EUSR registration.
- Temporary Works awareness.
- Banksman/Slinger Signaller.
- Lift Supervisor.
- Additional plant tickets.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 7:00am – 5:00pm
- Weekend work available.
