We’re on the look out for an energetic person to join our team for a full time Supervisor role at English Lounge, in the heart of Manchester City Centre!
The successful candidate will have a great understanding of the bar and drinks ranges, be friendly, enjoy the work atmosphere of a bustling pub. Also must be able to work under pressure in a busy environment whilst running the team and alone on quieter shifts, whilst still creating an amazing experience which will keep our customers coming back time after time!

As a supervisor you will be in charge of a small team, have superb stock control, be approachable and be able to think on your feet whilst running both the bar and front of house areas when the manager isn’t on site.
This role will involve opening and closing the pub, also working some shifts alone during quieter times and is crucial in contributing to the overall great atmosphere of English Lounge every day!
We are a sports and music bar on the edge of the Northern Quarter with 2 dart boards, a pool table and separate function room. Showing all live sports and live music, open mic, comedy nights and karaoke nights weekly too!

Applicants MUST have relevant supervisor experience however specific training for this job will be given.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar area, including washing glassware
- Engage with customers, providing recommendations and taking orders efficiently
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and responsible service of alcohol
- Be able to work the bar alone on quieter shifts
- Be willing & able to open & close the pub
- Manage inventory by restocking supplies and reporting any shortages
- Handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills to handle busy periods effectively
- Have good understanding and experience of cashing up/and back office systems
- Run a small team when GM & AGM aren't on site
Requirements
- Previous experience in bartending and supervising is essential
- Enjoy working closely with management and bringing fresh ideas and knowledge to contribute the smooth running of bar/pub
- Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks during peak hours & when working alone
- A commitment to providing outstanding hospitality and customer service
- Knowledge of different drinks and pairings
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- A friendly demeanour with strong communication skills
- Outstanding understanding of the English language
- Be flexible for working different shifts each week
Pay: £12.80-£14.00 per hour
