Administrative Assistant
Pembleton Motor Company is a specialist British vehicle manufacturer based in Bayton, rural Worcestershire, producing low volume, hand-built sports cars.
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Administrative Assistant to support the day-to-day running of the business and work directly alongside the company owner.
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys organisation, problem solving and helping keep a busy specialist business running efficiently. The role involves much more than traditional administration and will suit somebody who enjoys taking ownership of tasks, researching solutions, coordinating projects and helping a growing business operate effectively.
The position will initially be approximately 1 day per week on a self-employed/freelance basis, with the potential for additional hours in future as the role develops.
The role is fully in-person and based on site.
Responsibilities may include:
- Managing and responding to emails
- Supplier communication and follow-up
- Chasing parts and orders
- Data entry and maintaining records
- Assisting with general business organisation
- Making payments and handling administrative tasks
- Supporting ongoing projects and research
- Obtaining quotations and sourcing products or services
- Coordinating suppliers, contractors and outsourced services
- Preparing reports and assisting with business analysis where required
- Assisting with customer and supplier enquiries where required
- General assistance to the business owner as needed
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent attention to detail
- Be highly organised and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Be confident using IT systems and software
- Be highly proficient with Outlook, Excel and Word
- Be reliable, trustworthy and professional
- Be comfortable working within a small specialist manufacturing business
- Be proactive and capable of working independently
- Have strong communication skills and a practical, common-sense approach
- Be comfortable researching solutions, comparing options and taking ownership of tasks from start to finish
Experience with systems such as HubSpot or Asana would be beneficial, although training can be provided. Previous experience in the automotive would be beneficial
