Job Overview
Hollinbrow Precision Products are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our production team. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machining equipment to produce precise components. The position is suitable for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, technical environment.
The successful candidate should have skills and experience on one of the following machines - CNC Laser cutter, Lathe, Milling, Laser, Grinder, Wire Eroder, Press, Etching, Waterjet.
Initially this will be on a three month fixed-term contract, but may be extended and lead to a permanent contract for the right candidate and subject to business needs.
Responsibilities
- To accurately read and interpret engineering drawings (metric and English), and customer job packs.
- To set up relevant machines effectively and efficiently for self or colleagues, so operator can produce quality parts
- Work to fine tolerances to be able to produce quality parts on-time and to exact customer specifications.
- Carry out inspection, including first-off and last off inspection, using verniers, micrometer, OGP and other measuring machines. Liaise with Quality team as and when required.
- Complete job cards detailing parts produced, process time, tolerances and any issues.
- Complete daily production and machine checks and housekeeping activities to ensure workplace is always safe, neat and tidy.
- Make a positive contribution to teamwork and help Production Supervisor to train/develop other personnel to increase skill level across the team.
Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- An apprenticeship, craft or technical qualification ideally, or at least 2 years’ proven experience operating one of the machines listed above, CNC setting and operating experience in a precision engineering environment.
- Maths and English to GCSE pass standard , or equivalent qualification and practical experience, for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks and to be able to interpret job cards customer requirements.
- Good knowledge of CNC, IT skills, machining techniques & appropriate tools.
- Positive attitude, attention to detail and ability to use own initiative and problem solve.
- Positive attendance record i.e. reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Desirable
- Haas/Fanuc controls experience
- CAD experience
- Immediate availability
