Maintenance Person (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Location: Windermere Boutique Hotel, Windermere, The Lake District
We are looking for a reliable, practical, and proactive Maintenance Person to join our team at our award-winning eight-suite boutique hotel. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys problem-solving, and has a broad range of maintenance skills.
The role is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and would suit someone who enjoys variety and working in a friendly, hands-on environment.
Key Responsibilities
● Carry out general maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure the highest standards are maintained.
● Perform basic repairs and maintenance including:
● Carpentry and woodwork
● Basic plumbing
● Basic electrical repairs (within competency)
● Painting and decorating
● General building maintenance
● Maintain the hotel’s gardens and outdoor areas to a high standard.
● Identify maintenance issues before they become larger problems.
● Troubleshoot faults and find practical, cost-effective solutions.
● Liaise with specialist contractors when required.
Hot Tub Maintenance
Approximately two days per week will be dedicated to maintaining the hotel’s luxury hot tubs, including:
● Draining and refilling hot tubs.
● Cleaning and sanitising tubs to the highest hygiene standards.
● Testing and balancing water chemicals.
● Carrying out routine maintenance and basic fault finding.
● Ensuring every hot tub is guest-ready and operating safely before arrivals.
Full training can be provided on our hot tub maintenance procedures if required.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
● Have previous experience in a maintenance or handyman role.
● Be competent in a wide range of general maintenance tasks.
● Be practical, organised, and able to work independently.
● Have excellent problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
● Take pride in delivering high standards of workmanship.
● Be reliable, trustworthy, and flexible.
● Hold a full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential).
