Overview
We are seeking for a time served PCV/HGV Mechanic to join our team here at Marbill Coaches. The ideal candidate will possess skill and experience with heavy vehicles and demonstrate the ability to diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles and machinery. This role is essential in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our operations, contributing to the overall success of our organisation.
Duties
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Diagnose mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on each vehicle or piece of equipment.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Adhere to health & safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
- 50 hours p/week with Optional overtime
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a HGV/PCV Mechanic or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, engines, and automotive repair techniques.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics effectively.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- A valid driving licence is required .
- Electrical Knowledge would be advantageous but not mandatory.
- Any further Qualifications that are relevant to the job will also be advantageous.
