Responsibilities
- Measure, cut, and prepare fabrics and materials for upholstery projects using hand tools and power tools.
- Operate sewing machines to stitch fabric coverings securely onto furniture frames or other structures.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain tools and equipment ensuring optimal performance.
- Assemble furniture components, including padding, springs, and frames, with precision and care.
- Perform heavy lifting of furniture parts or materials safely to facilitate assembly and upholstery tasks.
- Fabricate custom pieces by cutting, shaping, and fitting materials according to project specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace within the warehouse or workshop environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
Experience
- Prior experience in upholstery, furniture fabrication, or related warehouse work preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as staple guns, screwdrivers, pliers, and measuring tapes.
- Experience operating power tools including drills, saws, or sewing machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to furniture assembly and fabric application.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely on a regular basis during fabrication or installation processes.
- Familiarity with sewing techniques and fabric handling is highly desirable.
- Previous warehouse experience is a plus for working efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
