Roger Warnes Transport Ltd. is a leading TASCC-assured bulk haulier based in Norfolk, serving the UK's agricultural and construction sectors. We are currently seeking a Transport Planning Administrator to join our friendly transport team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Experience within the agricultural, construction, logistics or bulk haulage sectors would be advantageous. This is a varied role where you will manage the complete transport process from securing customer work and processing orders through to planning, invoicing and final payment, ensuring a seamless service throughout.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with customers, farm managers, suppliers and drivers to coordinate transport requirements and maintain excellent customer service.
- Plan and optimise transport routes to maximise vehicle utilisation and operational efficiency.
- Track vehicle movements and monitor progress against planned schedules, responding proactively to delays or operational issues.
- Be confident and professional managing a high volume of telephone calls throughout the day, coordinating deliveries and collections, communicating schedules and route updates to drivers, and responding promptly to customer and driver enquiries to ensure the smooth running of the transport operation.
- Support the transport office and planning team with administrative duties as required, including entering orders onto the TMS with accuracy and consolidating and scanning proof of delivery documentation.
- Process sales invoices from the TMS and resolve invoice queries in a timely manner.
- Support the warehouse operations with administrative duties as required, including entering orders. Assist with TASCC and FIAS audits.
- Ensure compliance with UK transport legislation, operator licence requirements and TASCC assurance standards relating to the safe movement of food and feed.
The successful candidate will ideally have
- Previous experience in transport planning, transport administration, logistics or bulk haulage.
- Knowledge of the agricultural and/or construction sectors would be beneficial.
- Good understanding of UK transport legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads in a busy environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the confidence to liaise effectively with customers, drivers and suppliers.
- Strong IT skills, with experience using Transport Management Systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- The ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks and contribute positively within a team environment.
- A proactive, flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to respond quickly to changing operational demands.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Working Hours
Average of 50 hours per week. Due to the nature of the transport industry, flexibility is essential. Start and finish times may vary, and additional hours may be required to meet the operational needs of the business. You will be required to be part of an evening/weekend on-call rota.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
