Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Virtual Bookkeeping Assistant to support our clients remotely. This role requires excellent written and verbal communications skills, task and time management skills and ensuring accuracy across various accounting platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, familiarity with key accounting software, and a proactive approach to maintaining financial integrity. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their bookkeeping expertise in a flexible, remote environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions efficiently and accurately.
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts regularly to ensure data consistency.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statements as required by the finance team.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
- Respond promptly to queries related to financial records and transactions.
- Maintain organised digital filing systems for all financial documents and correspondence.
- Debtor follow up over phone and email
Skills
- Proven experience with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Familiarity with accounts payable processes and general ledger management.
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote setting.
- Good communication skills to effectively liaise with team members and external partners.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting purposes.
