The Oaks Secondary School is seeking to appoint a dedicated and reliable Cleaner to join our site team. This is a part-time role for 12.5 hours per week, paid at Grade 1 SCP 3 (£12.85 per hour). The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.
The Oaks is a specialist secondary school catering to pupils with moderate, severe, or profound and multiple learning difficulties, as well as Autism Spectrum Conditions. We are proud to have been rated Outstanding by Ofsted in our last four inspections, and we are committed to providing a high-quality learning environment that supports the wellbeing and development of all our students.
The Cleaner will be responsible for a range of duties including emptying waste bins, cleaning furniture and fittings, maintaining sanitary areas, and ensuring all floor surfaces are cleaned appropriately. The role also involves operating cleaning equipment safely, reporting any maintenance issues, and participating in deep cleaning during school holidays. Attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential.
