About the Role
Mid-Ulster Granite & Stone Co. Ltd. is looking for a friendly, organised and highly motivated Receptionist / Sales & Office Administrator to join our team in Lurgan on a maternity cover basis.
As the first point of contact for customers visiting our showroom or contacting us by telephone or email, you will play a key role in delivering the high standard of customer service we pride ourselves on.
The role combines reception, customer service, sales support, order processing, and general office administration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a varied working day and is confident managing multiple responsibilities in a busy environment.
You will be based at reception and will work independently for much of the day, while working closely with the wider team to ensure customers are looked after and orders are processed accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Reception & Customer Service
- Welcoming and greeting customers as they arrive at the showroom in a friendly and professional manner.
- Acting as the first point of contact for all visitors to the showroom.
- Answering and managing incoming telephone calls and directing enquiries appropriately.
- Responding to customer enquiries via telephone and email in a timely and professional manner.
- Assisting showroom customers with their enquiries and providing guidance where appropriate.
- Helping customers explore and select suitable stone options for their kitchen, taking into consideration their requirements, preferences, and overall design.
- Providing excellent customer service throughout the customer journey, from initial enquiry through to completion of their order.
- Maintaining a welcoming, professional, and organised reception and showroom environment.
Sales & Order Administration
- Typing and processing customer orders accurately.
- Preparing customer quotations and responding to quotation enquiries.
- Pricing kitchen floor plans accurately.
- Updating orders and quotations when customers request changes.
- Ensuring customer information, order details and pricing are recorded accurately.
- Keeping customers informed of relevant updates relating to their order.
- Sending customer care guidelines following completion of jobs.
- Preparing and issuing daily invoices.
- Preparing and sending monthly customer statements.
General Office Administration
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date customer records.
- Creating and maintaining customer files.
- Filing and organising documentation efficiently.
- Completing general day-to-day administrative duties to support the smooth running of the office.
- Managing emails and ensuring customer queries are responded to promptly.
- Using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook on a daily basis.
- Assisting the wider team with administrative duties and other tasks as required.
The Ideal Candidate

- Have an excellent telephone manner and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Be confident and professional when dealing with customers face-to-face, over the telephone and via email.
- Have excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Be well organised and able to prioritise competing tasks effectively.
- Be comfortable working independently and managing reception area.
- Be able to remain calm and professional when dealing with multiple enquiries or changing priorities.
- Have a friendly, approachable, and positive personality.
- Be proactive and confident using their own initiative.
- Have good numerical ability and be comfortable working with pricing, quotations, and invoices.
- Have strong computer skills and be competent using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Be a reliable and punctual team player who takes pride in their work.
- Have a genuine interest in helping customers and providing a first-class service.
Skills That Will Help You Succeed
You may be greeting a customer in the showroom, answering the telephone, responding to an email, and processing an order within a short period of time. We are therefore looking for someone who can confidently manage interruptions, prioritise their workload and ensure nothing is overlooked.
A calm, friendly and solution-focused approach is important, as is the ability to communicate clearly with customers and colleagues.
Experience within the kitchen, stone, construction, interiors, or similar industry would be advantageous, but is not essential. Full training on our products, processes and systems will be provided.
