This is a great opportunity to be a key member of the Commercial Team as an Estimator helping ensure success in the tender submission process for marine construction projects (ship repair, dry-docking, refit and conversion).
Key Responsibilities
Work as a key member of the Estimating / Commercial Team helping to ensure success in the tender submission process for marine construction projects (ship repair, dry-docking, refit and conversion).
Review project documentation (specifications and drawings) to understand the scope of work and identify cost related factors.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for specified marine construction projects.
Prepare listings of bid items for review by the Project Management Team.
Prepare detailed reports and communicate findings clearly to management and stakeholders.
Ensure all estimate information and documentation are delivered accurately and within required timescales.
Attend and actively participate in project related meetings.
Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and vendors to discuss cost estimates and resolve potential issues.
Skills & Knowledge
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
Engineering/Construction Management qualification or related discipline is preferred.
Full UK driving licence.
Knowledge
Estimation experience within the marine engineering or related industry.
