We are looking to recruit a friendly, organised and enthusiastic Administrator/Receptionist to join our busy GP practice team. This is an important front-facing role, providing excellent customer service to our patients while supporting the smooth running of the practice.
Main Duties and ResponsibilitiesReception Duties
- Welcome patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Answer incoming telephone calls, dealing with enquiries efficiently and sensitively.
- Book, amend and cancel appointments using the practice clinical system (SystmOne).
- Register new patients and update patient demographic information.
- Process requests for prescriptions and direct patients to the appropriate service where necessary.
- Signpost patients to the most appropriate healthcare professional or service.
- Manage patient arrivals and waiting room queries.
- Handle confidential patient information in accordance with GDPR and NHS policies.
Administrative Duties
- Process incoming and outgoing correspondence, including emails, letters and clinical documents.
- Support clinicians and management with administrative tasks.
- Process referrals, reports and other patient-related documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and filing systems.
- Assist with audits, data collection and reporting as required.
- Support practice projects and service developments.
Essential Skills and Experience
