Job Description:
Overview
We are looking for a capable and experienced individual to join our Tool Hire & Repairs team specialising in floor prep and floor sanding equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in repairing and maintaining hire equipment, along with strong mechanical knowledge and a customer-focused approach. This role involves diagnosing faults, performing repairs, and ensuring that all equipment is safe, operational, and ready for hire.
Responsibilities
- The maintenance, repair and statutory compliance of the tools and equipment in the hire fleet.
- To oversee the customer tool repairs division and to diagnose, troubleshoot and carry out technical repair of equipment.
- Carry out PAT Testing on all electrical tools.
- Test and run all tools to ensure they are in good working order ready for hire.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Manage parts and stock needed and ensure workshop is kept to a high standard.
- Assist on the trade counter and with loading deliveries and collections.
- Cover for deliveries and collections as required.
- Ensure all work undertaken is safe and complies with safety standards.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in equipment servicing and repairs within the tool or plant hire industry (minimum 3 years).
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
- Ability to read and understand machine drawings and schematics.
- Qualified PAT tester.
- Organised and methodical approach to work, taking pride in delivery.
- Good communication skills and professional customer service skills.
- ‘Can do’ attitude to work and helping in other areas of the company.
